European Centre organised the 2nd BB Policy Review on gender equality and care for relatives

The European Centre organised the 2nd BB Policy Review on ‘Gender equality and care for relatives‘ on 05 and 06 June 2023. Around 40 representatives registered from ministries and public bodies from Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kosovo, Moldova, and Ukraine. Participants

  • discussed how existing care policies support gender equality especially leave schemes, childcare services, and support to informal carers.
  • explored promising policy solutions for a more sustainable provision of formal care for people of all ages.
  • exchanged experiences on the implementation of gender equality policies.
  • discussed challenges and the negative impact of providing unpaid care on the social, economic, and financial situation of women.
