11th BBinar: Job quality and working conditions in the Western Balkans

In January 2026, the European Centre for Social Welfare Policy and Research hosted the 11th BBinar titled “Job quality and working conditions in the Western Balkans.” The online event presented findings from a comparative analysis conducted by the European Centre and the Foundation for the Advancement of Economics (FREN) in Serbia, based on the European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions’ 2021 European Working Conditions Telephone Survey, which for the first time included the six Western Balkan countries. The discussion focused on key results later published in a Eurofound report with the same title, covering labour markets and the working population in the Western Balkans, job quality in the region, the quality of working life, and a snapshot of gender equality. The BBinar also featured contributions and reflections from representatives of academic and policy research institutions from Serbia, North Macedonia, and Montenegro, fostering regional dialogue on improving working conditions and job quality.
