European Centre Contribution on Labour Migration and Workforce Challenges in Kosovo

European Centre researcher Sonila Danaj contributed to the event “Challenges of the Workforce and Migration in Kosovo,” held on 2 October 2025 at Hotel Garden in Pristina. Her presentation, “Regulating Labour Migration and Mobility: Insights from EU Countries’ Experiences,” outlined the main features of the EU labour migration regime, including single-permit criteria, special categories, and the broader mobility regulatory framework. She also examined national migration and mobility policies, risks related to ethical recruitment, and potential mitigating measures, illustrated with examples from EU member states. Her input provided comparative perspectives relevant to ongoing policy debates in Kosovo and the region.
