30/06/21: Kick-off of the BB Peer Reviews & Trainings project

The Bridge Building (BB) Peer Reviews and Trainings project kicked off yesterday. Andreas Schaller, Federal Ministry of Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection of Austria and Anette Scoppetta, European Centre were opening the online event. Representatives of social protection and health care public authorities from six Bridge Building countires were present at the event.

By implementing mutual learning activities in the BB countries – 11  (potential) EU candidate countries and Eastern Partnership Countries (EaP) – the European Centre provides answers to countries’ needs:

  • better coping with the health and social consequences of COVID-19
  • fighting poverty, especially for vulnerable groups.

The project corresponds to the principles, objectives & priorities of the 3-years programme on Austrian development policy from 2019 to 2021. Read more

The European Centre is currently updating the six reviews of the Western Balkan countries regarding the European Pillar of Social Rights (EPSR).

New project: Updated review of Western Balkan economies regarding the EPSR

The European Centre is currently updating the six reviews of the Western Balkan countries: Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, Republic of North Macedonia, & Serbia regarding the European Pillar of Social Rights (EPSR). The European Centre team is working with country experts to create high-quality reports to monitor the countries’ achievements and reform efforts of social rights as candidate and potential candidate countries and preparing a comparative overview report for 2021. Within the framework of the Employment and Social Affairs Platform 2 (ESAP 2) project that is implemented by the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) and funded by the EU. The European Centre was also engaged as the international expert organization in the reviews prepared in 2018/19 and coordinated the 2020 reviews. Read more

Call for applicants for the Bridge Building (BB) Summer School of evaluation in social policies (25-27 August 2021) as part of the Bridging Function of the European Centre.

The BB Summer School takes place on 25-27 August 2021 aiming to enhance skills and knowledge in commissioning and/or conducting social policy-oriented M&E projects and programmes. It will stimulate an interactive, participatory, and reflective learning among the participants and will bring together professionals to exchange and enhance their knowledge and expertise in Monitoring and Evaluation, and to contribute to regional cooperation for European integration. More information here

The BB Summer School takes place on 25-27/8/21 as part of the Bridging Function of the European Centre. It aims to enhance skills and knowledge in commissioning and/or conducting social policy-oriented Monitoring and Evaluation projects and programmes. The BB Summer School will stimulate an interactive, participatory, and reflective learning among the participants and it will bring together professionals to exchange and enhance their knowledge and expertise in Monitoring and Evaluation, and to contribute to regional cooperation for European integration by:

Capacity building, by enhancing knowledge and sharing information on the state-of-the-art research and policy practice.

Facilitating the exchange of experiences among participants. Interactive, hands-on working groups, and practical exercises will foster peer learning.

Developing ideas and proposals for real world projects, which can contribute to strengthening the Monitoring and Evaluation approaches in the European region.
