The programme, Expanding Cooperation with Civil Society in the Eastern Partnership Countries and Russia, enables civil-society organisations and the members of the public active in them to implement joint projects, thereby supporting the ongoing transformation processes in the region.

Through the programme, the German Government funds measures that provide comprehensive support to the transformation and internal integration processes via collaboration between German civil society and civil societies in the Eastern Partnership countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova, Ukraine) and Russia.

This includes the entire range of cultural and civic education projects – media, academia, education including vocational training, culture, language and work with young people. Following the success of its Re-granting to Working Groups scheme over the past six years, the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum (EaP CSF) Secretariat is launching a Call for Proposals under its new, re-worked Re-granting to Members programme. This scheme aims to support the work of EaP CSF members to develop and deliver on the strategic policy, advocacy and capacity building priorities of the Forum within the regional dimension. We examine two approaches to external resilience-building employed by the EU: support for the sources of societal resilience (social trust, legitimacy of governance actors, design of governance institutions) and prevention of domestic and external risks. 30/06/21: Kick-off of the BB Peer Reviews & Trainings project

The Bridge Building (BB) Peer Reviews and Trainings project kicked off yesterday. Andreas Schaller, Federal Ministry of Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection of Austria and Anette Scoppetta, European Centre were opening the online event. Representatives of social protection and health care public authorities from six Bridge Building countires were present at the event.

By implementing mutual learning activities in the BB countries – 11  (potential) EU candidate countries and Eastern Partnership Countries (EaP) – the European Centre provides answers to countries’ needs:

  • better coping with the health and social consequences of COVID-19
  • fighting poverty, especially for vulnerable groups.

The project corresponds to the principles, objectives & priorities of the 3-years programme on Austrian development policy from 2019 to 2021. Read more

Call for applicants for the Bridge Building (BB) Summer School of evaluation in social policies (25-27 August 2021) as part of the Bridging Function of the European Centre.

The BB Summer School takes place on 25-27 August 2021 aiming to enhance skills and knowledge in commissioning and/or conducting social policy-oriented M&E projects and programmes. It will stimulate an interactive, participatory, and reflective learning among the participants and will bring together professionals to exchange and enhance their knowledge and expertise in Monitoring and Evaluation, and to contribute to regional cooperation for European integration. More information here

The BB Summer School targets professionals working particularly in or with Western Balkan and Eastern Partnership countries. Registration is now open for the call for applications for the virtual BB Summer School. Deadline for applications: extended until 10 May 2021

Visegrad+ Grants support projects which contribute to the democratization and transformation processes in selected countries and regions, especially non-EU member states in the Western Balkans and the Eastern Partnership countries.

  • Projects must develop meaningful cooperation and ensure active involvement of at least 3 V4 countries and 1 entity from the EaP region or the Western Balkans countries at minimum regardless of the applicant
  • Maximum duration of project implementation is 18 months
  • Grants cover up to 100% of project budget with maximum 15% of the requested sum for overheads
  • Projects must clearly address one of the objectives of the program´s seven focus areas and be implemented in the region of EU´s Eastern Partnership or in the Western Balkans
