Following the success of its Re-granting to Working Groups scheme over the past six years, the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum (EaP CSF) Secretariat is launching a Call for Proposals under its new, re-worked Re-granting to Members programme. This scheme aims to support the work of EaP CSF members to develop and deliver on the strategic policy, advocacy and capacity building priorities of the Forum within the regional dimension. 30/06/21: Kick-off of the BB Peer Reviews & Trainings project

The Bridge Building (BB) Peer Reviews and Trainings project kicked off yesterday. Andreas Schaller, Federal Ministry of Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection of Austria and Anette Scoppetta, European Centre were opening the online event. Representatives of social protection and health care public authorities from six Bridge Building countires were present at the event.

By implementing mutual learning activities in the BB countries – 11  (potential) EU candidate countries and Eastern Partnership Countries (EaP) – the European Centre provides answers to countries’ needs:

  • better coping with the health and social consequences of COVID-19
  • fighting poverty, especially for vulnerable groups.

The project corresponds to the principles, objectives & priorities of the 3-years programme on Austrian development policy from 2019 to 2021. Read more

Journal Article: The European Union’s ‘Potential We’ between Acceptance and Contestation: Assessing the Positioning of Six Eastern Partnership Countries by Vieira

In this journal article, Vieira analyses the European neighbourhood policy and the Eastern Partnership (EaP) from the perspective of social identity theory.  Drawing on the framing analysis of strategic documents and statements, which identifies eight distinct themes, the contribution ascertains three different patterns of EaP states’ interaction with the EU: Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine accepting the ‘EU’s potential we’, Armenia holding to the potential we, and Azerbaijan, as well as Belarus, contesting the potential we. 17 -18 September 2018: Invitation to the Vienna EUROMOD Workshop

The European Centre together with ISER/University of Essex (United Kingdom) invites for the Vienna EUROMOD Workshop, taking place at the Austria Trend Hotel Ananas from 17 – 18 September 2018.

The Wokshop comprises the following sessions:

  • Tax-benefit microsimulation in Austria (17 September, morning)
  • Western BalkanMod initiative of the Eastern European Social Policy Network (17 September, afternoon)
  • New research directions using EUROMOD (18 September, morning)

We particularly invite researchers and public representatives with expertise in social protection as well as tax-benefit microsimulation from Austria and the Western Balkan countries, and even beyond (EU, EaP-Eastern Partnership countries, etc.).
